King of Speed 7 report

I think we should start conducting drug tests on Jeff Francis and checking his new frame for a hidden motor! Last week he knocked about four minutes off his personal best for a 25; this week he knocked a big chunk (over a minute I think, and it might have been more) off his best for a 5 mile TT. He beat me in both too. Not that I’m bitter. :-/

Dave Schubert did an excellent ride too, finishing with a time that was more than a minute quicker than his previous ride on this course. His lead in the Best Improver competition looks unassailable, unless someone does a flyer next week.

There was even a course PB for Paragon’s Dave Thompson, who was a comfortable winner. Conditions were pretty good - nice and warm but with a niggly crosswind that contrived to slow us down on bits of the course in both directions.

6 Jimmy Morrison 13:19 = 22.53mph

Next event is a 10-miler next Monday (5th July), followed by the final event (a 25) on 12th July.
