Richardsons Cycle Club is hosting the 2nd family fun ride and BBQ on Sunday 11th July at 10.00am.
The event last year was a lot of fun and well attended. We are planning a similar set up this year with mountain bike rides and then time for more fun and eating at the BBQ.
There will be guided mountain bike rides leaving from Sawdon Village Hall. One ride will be aimed at families and will follow less challenging forest roads and public bridleways in and around Wykeham Forest. This route will take about 2 hours, but a few rest stops will be included in that time and will finish back at Sawdon Village Hall.
Another ride will be a more challenging route (approx 25km) for more experienced mountain bikers following public bridleways in Wykeham Forest. There will be hills and technical sections included. This ride will also last 2 hours and finish back at Sawdon Village Hall.
All you will need is a suitable off road bike, helmet and a drink for the ride.
After the ride there will be a BBQ at Sawdon Village Hall, with some fun entertainment. The ticket price includes a hot dog or burger (veggie options will be available) and soft drinks.
The ride is open to everyone, club members and non members alike and costs £4 a ticket or £15 for a family ticket (4 people). Tickets are available from Richardson’s Cycle Shop on Castle Road, Scarborough. Please note tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance.
If you require more information please call in at the shop, or phone 01723 352682.
Any club member who can volunteer to lead a ride, help out at the BBQ or bake cakes for the cake stall, please get in touch with Debbie Richardson at the shop (01723 352682). Many thanks.
Jackie
Andy is kindly leading the road ride on Sunday from sawdon so it will be a great for all the road riders to join us mountain bikers. Hope to see you there.
Me, Matt and Oliver will be there hopefully.
Should be really good
Hi Debs, your Chef de Rex is waiting instructions, what time would you like me Sunday morning. If I can do anything prior to the day just let me know. Rex.
Thanks to Andy for the Road Ride and for loaning me a inner tube after I burst both tyres!
Unfortunately that meant I missed Rex’s BBQ which I am sure was great!
That’s two people I owe inner tubes to!
