Talk about saving the best to last! A great turn-out of 28 riders and it was brilliant that Bridlington CC re-arranged their event for the evening so they could ride the last event with us - it was good to see you all again. It was certainly a cold night - as Ray Gullen would testify having done the time checks at the top of Bartindale Road. James Gullen knocked 9 seconds off his already winning hill climb time - reducing it from 7.26 to 7 mins, 17 seconds. Well done James. Jeff Francis made a reappearance after sitting in pole position from week 1. His handicap time from week 1 of 21 mins and 30 seconds stood the test of time and even he was not able to improve on this being just 10 seconds slower. Paul Lane had been sat in second position with a handicap time 22.25 but was ousted from this spot by his friend Pete MacAuley coming home in a fantastic time of 21.47 - having knocked 59 seconds off his time from Event 3. Third saw James Gullen come in with a handicap result of 22.05 and David Schubert came in a very respectable 4th with a handicap result of 22.11. David knocked off 2 mins and 9 seconds from his 3rd round time - guess who had his Weetabix for breakfast. Excellent ride David. Matt Schofield picked up the Fastast Boy on Handicap with a handicap finishing time of 20 mins, 24 secs. Lorraine Naylor held onto the Fastest Lady on Handicap prize with a time of 22.53. As usual a big thank you to all the helpers on the night. Steph and Ian on the finishing line. Thanks also to Ian for helping me out with the scores on the doors and tidying up later. Ray was helpful as ever on the hill climb times and thank you to Paul for traffic spotting on the Wold Newton corner. It was also appreciated that Tracy from Bridlington not only sorted out the starting of all riders but did a brilliant job in the kitchen afterwards - thank you Tracy. Thanks also out to Tina for bringing some baking - which always goes down well. And finally thanks to all the riders - without you we wouldn’t have a job to do. It has been great to meet all the Brid riders and has been a fun few weeks. Maybe next year I will get more time to chat with you more! Thanks, Hazel
