Two of the meetings listed clash with your RCC King of Speed Series a 5m & 10m ????

Are you aware of this ????

Are the TT's still going to happen as I've 'Pencilled' in some to do ????

Course info would be handy as well as if they are 'fast' I may do more. Smile

5m 10:15 - 10m 19:28 - 15m 31:06 - 25m 52:58 - 30m 1:05:34 - 50m 1:47:36 - 100m 3:47:15 - 12Hr 274.69m

Yeah, we know there's a clash. I've updated the events list, though. The clash is with a 5 mile TT both times. That will take place on the Dunslow course, so any riders at that will just go along to the meeting later - they'll still catch most of the meeting. We might even be moving the venues of one or both meetings nearer to the start/finish to make this even easier.

You'll know the 25 course (not very fast, unfortunately, but I can't think of one around this area that would be) and the 5 course (quite fast). The 10 will either take place on the A64 (Musham Bank Rndbt to Staxton Rndbt and back) and the road out to Irton roundabout and back OR the Pickering course that starts near the Black Bull pub (that Malton Wheelers use). Both those are fast-ish. We don't know if we'll get the A64 course. I don't see why not - both the 25 and 5 use the same road already - but it depends what the Yorkshire District decide.

Be good to see you at the events anyhow, Tommo.

V401 is good, and the best choice really. You could have the meetings at Scarborough Fayre (Hungry Horse or whatever)

V418 is maybe too far out for 'local' events, though faster than A64 (too many r/abouts)

SPCC ran races on V418 but start/finish lines were level not offset, given that the prevailing wind is SW it makes the course slower so you could think about that. ????

25m is slow but hey - same for everyone. Heads up on the fact that sometime in the summer the left turn at the end of Snainton (and the right turn after the triangle) by the Coachman is going to be 'Changed' which means it will be made slower/tighter. Temporary Traffic lights and cones everywhere will mean no racing that night, no dates yet though. Confused

I'll put the new list into my 'planner' and see how it looks but Opens are now the priority for me now and I have some on Sundays, so Monday will be a rest day what with v718 Weds night league etc. (defending Combined Champ) but if they are cancelled then I'll be OK. Some are OK anyway so I'll be there for those.

5m 10:15 - 10m 19:28 - 15m 31:06 - 25m 52:58 - 30m 1:05:34 - 50m 1:47:36 - 100m 3:47:15 - 12Hr 274.69m

The club already has weekly events on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Friday night is seldom a good time for meetings. And weekends people are often busy.

So it's almost inevitable there'd be a clash with *something*. Clashing with the events lasting the shortest amount of time - the 5-mile TTs - looked to be the lesser of several evils.

It's always worth raising stuff like this. I've put it on the committee agenda to discuss the possibility of bumping those two meetings to a Sunday night. If we don't do that, we'll do what we can to minimise the overlap in terms of time. Not least because I'll be due at both the TTs and the meetings!Wink
