Our Youth Academy for under 16 year olds finishes for Winter at the end of Nov. So hope we will see our young members making the effort to come along each Sunday. The end of the month will be a coach led ride out in Wykeham Forest (parents welcome).
Below is the planned activities for our young riders for this month:

3 riders braved the damp grey afternoon up at the 6th Form College on Sunday afternoon, Callum, Bailey and Jasper. We covered cornering techniques, firstly on the car park and then moved up onto the grass where we finished with a quick timed race around a twisty circuit followed by an endurance race. The lads went home slightly out of puff but will be able to tackle any corners we come across on our ride out on the 27th of November!

6 riders turned out for my session on climbing and decending.
well i think all the training is paying off now as the kids made light work of the challenges that i set.
they not only rode down the bank side they where also putting in a small pre jump and glide down the hills like pros.
looking forward now to next years coaching sessions.

Just 2 riders this Sunday for the off road skills…….. Maybe the riders were a tad worried. The session covered how to improve steering with body movement, Kick turns and clearing a small obstacle. All the techniques were practiced within the lower car par area and we finished in the small wood getting over some obstacles.
Jasper went away with some homework to practice rear wheel lifts to get the kick turns started and to clear the back wheel. Callum needs to ditch the cleats! 'cleats means cheats' For practicing these techniques. Will be brining flat pedals for him next time.
The Next session is next Sunday 27th Nov a trail ride from Sawdon village Hall.
Ready to ride at 1pm for a two hour ride. Youth Academy and parents welcome. This will be a coaching session so there will not be a large amount of riding.

I have had some queries about where we are meeting on Sunday. The ride will start at 1pm on Sunday from Sawdon Village Hall which is just the other side of Sawdon Village from the A170.

A very good day out yesterday with the young riders and parents. Thanks to Graham Foulds and Pete Blood for coming along. A fuller write up and pictures will follow soon.
