Right then people of RCC.

Over the last 24hours I have learned 2 things.

1. If you open your mouth within earshot/in front of of any rcc members then you will surely end up organising/helping something. Which is good.

2. after opening my mounth at the meeting last night, I have found myself to be in the midst of organising a day out riding new trails. Which is also good.

So the details are more than sketchy at the minute, but the day away will be in the next 5 weeks, be away from the local area, a good laugh with some beautifull trails, food and space in the big blue van for up to 5 people to be transfered to these wonderfull trails.

Fancy it. I cannot wait.

I'll have more details tomorrow night on here so keep an eye out and please let me know if you wanna ride.

Till soonCool

That sounds good. I have a mountain bike trails guide to the whole of the country, with just a page on each. I can lend it to you next time I see you, if it helps.

PS this is my first post on the forum. Rather sadly Matt had to help me sign in. Embarassed

Right.

Its down to a couple of rides and date wise either 22nd or the 29th of August, which seems soooooo far in the future but aint really.

Both are Sundays so let me know what date is best for the majority and we'll go from there.

Hi,

Both dates look pretty good, tho 22nd clashes with Dusk til Dawn in Dalby, the 29th Bank hol weekend. Details on distance to ride and how long the ride!

Right then people.

August 22nd. You'll need your bike, riding gear and a smile.

The route that I'm really fancying to do is Ladybower over in the Peaks. Its 19 miles long and its total ascent is just over 800 meters. I've never rode over there so have no idea what the route is like apart from it looks alright to me and it goes around some bigish bits of water and there be some big dams about(and i wanna see where the dam busters trained)

This may look like some sort of quickly dreamed up plan, and to be fair with me at the helm there is no plan. Apart from riding on different trails in a new(for me) area.

If you like the sound of going away for a bit of a laugh, ride and of course food, stick a reply on here saying which ride you fancy and we'll go with the majority, or the weather.

It'll be an earlyish( i like ish, it makes planning(or not) so much easier to be flexible) start to the day, as going over to the peaks its a 2 and 1/2 hour drive over. Probably setting off from Scarborough for 8.00am.

The ride is aimed for whomever fancies but I guess you should be able to ride the red in dalby with no real issues.

Right, thats it, time do other stuff.

With the underwhelming response I've had about the ride over at Ladybower I'm pulling the ride.

I'll try organising another ride after the summer is over and see what happens from there. Maybe a little closer if thats what people want.

Enjoy your weekend people wherever you are.
