Well a good few turned out on Northern Light watch take two. Big Ali, (that's this week's nick name apparently)  and Langdale Richard, were joined by half of the Hackness Duo, Mike.

us socials were me, Elec-Ric, Lorraine, Purple Lee, newbie kev, or “Dad,' Father Ted, The Mayor of Sawdon, and Mr. Kendall aka the Bear. Very glad he was there too… as things turned out.

It was drizzling and a little windy as we set off up 7 mile hike. The anti socials were soon ahead and i thought that would be the last we saw of them. Then the drizzle turned to hail mixed with snow and the little bit of wind to gale force 10. we battled on to the top where the anti socials were waiting. Mike stuggling to stay up right said something like,'you can't go out there and im not!!!' or something. Father Ted told us to stop being wimps but the wimps won. Another 11 miles in those conditions would be ok but if we had a mechanical or it worsened them it could turn nasty!

Langdale Richard is not named in vein and him and Mr Bear came up with a different route back through the forest and we were off. All together. The route was strange as although we had been climbing for 6 miles we now appeared to be climbing again and again! it was a wise decision though as we had shelter and we all warmed up. We did get one downhill too ! The anti socials sped ahead at the end with father ted and The Mayor with them. The Bear kept us safe and we all finished the ride in the pub. We played the new club game.. just how many jaffa cakes would fill Big Ali….. answer Don't know as we didn't have enough! No northern lights either !
