Well it was a wild wild night. We met in a very dark car park, so dark that someone, (me) drove straight past the car park! The wind was almost gale force and i did think maybe a forest was not the best place to be! 18 of us turned out to ride the 'Debbie's challenge route'. We managed with Little Hopper leading the fast group with directions from me, Jackie kept the middle ground and i brought up the rear. I had forgotten to put in my contact lens and couldn't see much! Little Hopper managed to loose half his group but we managed to keep them on track. All rather liked the route and it was in pretty good condition tho just a few too many boggy sections. Little Hopper Nigel and one or two more decided that after one lap that maybe a forest, with a gale force wind and heavy rain was not the best place to be, but a hardy few set off for another lap! jackie led, that out of the blue, a mutiny! The whole group followed Jackie and headed for the car park after only a very short part of the route. I protested, i really did, Matt protested too and Ravenscar Chris was almost vocal with his protest, but to no avail ( ok maybe i said head back but i didn't mean it!) and it was back to the cars. Lizzie nearly got given a pair of forks and a bike before Ruth realized it wasn't me she was handing them over too! It was very dark remember! Finally to Prince Charming! A pair of shoes were left in the car park. They are with Cinderella at the moment but i will pick them up tomorrow and take to the shop!

Not sure who was ahead of us as we drove back after the ride- but I think they came close to trouble! We were watching their tail lights a little way in front of us as we drove along - but we had to stop when a freshly fallen 4m branch blocked the road ahead of us. We have three theories regarding the car in front.
- They just missed getting squished by seconds. (=Lucky)
- They dragged the branch behind them to slow everyone else down. (= Too competive)
- They managed to bunny-hop their car over it. (=Ready for Debbie's Challenge on Sunday)

I reckon Steve Hopper and Nigel cracked from the effort of trying to keep up with Young Mike.
