We’re running another guided mountain bike ride for beginners and family cyclists on the tracks and bridleways around Sawdon on Sunday 4th July. Club membership isn’t required and you don’t need to be a regular off-road rider to attend, although you should be able to ride a bicycle confidently by yourself. Cost for the session, which runs from 10.30am to 2pm, is just £2.50 per person. This includes tea and biscuits at Sawdon Village Hall afterwards. The pace will be slow and steady, so don’t worry if it’s been a while since you last rode a bike. This isn’t a race or a training ride and walking up any hills is definitely allowed. Riders will just need sensible outdoor clothing, a drink, a snack, a bike and a helmet. The ride will be led by CTC-qualified trail leaders and will be about 10 miles long.
