Brian Beadle did a route from Scarborough to Helmsley 100 miles to be done in 12 hours.  It takes in (reversed or you) Bloworth crossing, Glaisdale, goathland, Robin Hoods Bay and then Scarborough.  I have the book if you want the route?

Yes I would be up for such a ride just confirm the date so I can see if I am on shift.

Talk too me more and persuade me.Usually a pork pie and the chance of a pint does the trick.

If I'm not already busy then I do quite fancy coming along for a ride……..must check with the Mrs first cause she can hit harder than any man I know.Yell

How about a breakfast start at the cafe in the square at 8:30 ready for a 9am start, gives us all day to get to scarborough without lights at sometime around 5ish, thats 8 hours, should be enough for the ride and a couple of stops.

Are we still good for this route, is it all off road, just trying to work it all out, not havin much success, Debbie might help Dave, she's got all the routes of Yorkshire tucked away in her head.

Been out this morning for a “training ride”. Only from Scarborough up to Robin Hoods Bay on the old railway track.About 32 miles. Managed it ok in just over 3 1/2 hours……with a stop for summat to eat of course.

So bring on this 60 miler. I hope its not pissing it down.

Let me get this straight.  You have Debbie joining you who has just completed a 24 hour race and came 3rd (and by the way in my opinion totally trumped the moaning 4 old lad(ies) team)…. she is now at the peak of fitness and you are happy about this??Confused

I suppose I'd best get the baby oil ready and some tips from Jackie for when his nibs gets home :-)

Oh I do enjoy inflicting pain on him, its one of the few easy pleasures I have left these days, most of the others take too much energy!

By the way if I slide someone a tenner… can you get him totally p****d for me, it will probably only take 1/2 lager.

As my memory serves me right someone did the best dead fly impression(very, very funny), a very fast mtb'er went very red in the face and said never again, a super fit trainer found it hard work and Tom just sat on the turbo trainer whenever he wasn't on the course and did almost the full 24 hours.

Anyway. Back on track. Roll on next Sunday morning.

I cant wait.
