Thought that this would be good as only 100 people doing it! Then realised that the 100 did not mean people. So i think it is a no from me, but maybe sometime in the future.

Oh blimey. I have no idea how she does this. But somehow Debbie has talked me into doing it, so yes I have entered.
Not actually ever managed 100 miles in one go. Did 98 at MM last year. Probably won't do MM now, so looks like team Richardson Cycles has themselves a team massage therapist at mountain mayhem 2011. Jax

Mountain mayhem is just a fun week end away, free camping, lots of bike trades stands, loads of other cyclists and a bit of cycling, honest it's great fun! You could read Debbie's Diary if you want a slightly more detailed( and truthful) idea!

Yep, I fancy this - but ive never ridden this distance and unsure if the prep for it will fit in with shorter XC race training next season?
Need some advice before I sign up…

about 7 years ago one wet October evening a group of us got chatting about where we would ride when the weather improved. we came up with our 100 mile challenge. We ended up riding it about 6 times over a few years. We made the route harder each year rather than longer. If you are fit enough to take an off road ride of about 40 miles in your stride then any rider would be fine. The only proviso would be mental. One or two riders, perfectly capable of doing it dropped out because right from the start they didn't really believe they could do it! Now i am sure you will be fine. First time you do it (!) my advice is to take it steady. I know you are fit but you won't be able to do your shorter race speed all the way! I have a 10 mile training loop in Dalby and when i was fit i could race round it once in about 50 mins, maybe 48, but when i rode it for 12 hours i was lapping at 56 mins and was able to maintain that time for about 7 hours then i dropped to 58 to 59 mins a lap. Hope that gives you some idea!
