I got sent some more info about the Nutcracker series today. Looking good!

Here it is:

2010 - Full Steam Ahead…!

After months of deliberation, finer details of the 2010 series have been agreed and, by the time this Newsletter reaches you, the events will be registered with British Cycling. With 6 events spanning 7 months from April through October, it's guaranteed to be a busy year for organisers Bikelicker Events.

Bad weather in January meant that course and trail building was postponed but with Spring now in sight (hopefully?!) Bikelicker's Technical and Course Director Adey Dent is busy as a beaver at the 5 venues across the Northeast with a simple brief of identifying and building the best courses possible.

A “something for everyone” mentality has been adopted for the Nutcracker Series, whilst trying to keep things simple at the same time. All events are British Cycling ranking, giving the more competitive rider the chance to boost their national status and organisers have also chosen to include non-ranking racing for the leisure rider and novice racer. Events are classified as British Cycling Category “E” and will include the following race categories:
Youth (U16)
Junior (17-18)
Senior Novice (19+ Non-ranking “Go-MTB” race)
Senior Sports (19+)
Masters (30+)
Veterans (40+)
Experts
Elites

Details of the above can be found on the series website (http://www.nutcrackermtb.co.uk) along with further explanations of the BC ranking and category system.
