Well the Nutcracker MTB races for 2010 have now finished and are set to return next year.  In addition they will be hosting a 24 hour race and the National Mountain Bike championships in July 2011 - so one for your diaries!

They have posted a write up on the web for this years series and Mike Thompson got this mention:

There have been many other outstanding performances – too many to note, and I apologise for not mentioning them all but 3 in particular that stand out to me are in the youth and juvenile categories, our “stars of the future”. Mike Thompson and Jack Humphreys battled right up until the 5th round for Youth series domination – each putting in performances not far short of the older riders in the sport, expert and elite categories. The series was eventually decided when a no-show from Humphreys at the final round meant Thompson rode to an easy series win

So hope to see some of our club members again riding the series next year.
