Who's going to take part in round four of the BMBRS at Dalby on 3rd July, then? I've entered Open rather than Vets this year. It was five quid cheaper, I'm hoping you only have to do two laps rather than three Smile, and it means I get to race against Rich and Stu.

I'll put a proper report up about today's mountain bike race at Dalby (Round 4 of the British XC series) when I know the results. First impressions? Well, it was a hot day, which meant that one water bottle wasn't really enough, unless you had someone handing up fresh ones. Course was the World Cup course, starting at Adderstone  Field, but without the loop through Dixon's Hollow.

Liam Killeen won't the men's race, ahead of Oli Beckingsale.

Richardsons CC's Mike Thompson got a creditable 11th place in the Youth race, up against some very strong opposition.

I think the only other race that Richardsons CC had riders in was the Open race, where me, Rich Simms, Dave Simpson and Stu were racing not so much for positions but bragging rights. As far as I know, we ended the race: Rich, me, Stu, Dave. Bragging rights to Rich! Yell

Anyone up for the next Nutcracker race? Laugh Or a rematch on tarmac in a time trial? Cool

Thanks to people who were shouting our names as we went past. I heard my name a few times, which was nice, but by then I was kind of riding down a lonely tunnel so I've no idea who was shouting.

Cheers, Dave. All three of you rode away from me down Worry Gill, which I tiptoed down because I hate loose rocky stuff, so I was counting on that long climb to win back some time. I could have done with some tarmac sections too, I think. Wink

Hats off to Rich, though. He said he took it easy up that climb so he must have been caning it on other parts of the course!

How was the family ride today?
