Was up at Dalby yesterday. Glorious day for riding. But the red route switchback descent from the fireroad to near Staindale Lake, which got used as a climb in the NPS last year and which will be used as a climb for the word cup, is now dead. There was a digger on it and you can't ride down it.  An alternative has just been opened - a sanitised version of the black switchback descent - but although that's okay, it's slower, smoother, and less edgy. The old descent was one of my favourite bits. Oh well…

Ar bugger.

I liked that wee section……..it had it all, shear terror and the biggest joy when you made it too the bottom. It wasn't

bad. After all it is supposed to be a red and yes it may have been a challenge in parts………it was dam good fun that was all the better for going as fast as possible.

Hey ho, will wait and see what they make of it.
