I have just got back from a week in Centre Parks in Nottinghamshire. Just around the corner is there equivalent of Dalby, but not as hilly. Have a look at the link. It is only 2 hrs from Scarborough and would be worth a day out for those interested.

Even I found it not too technical the majority of the time (and for those that know me you will realise that it must be OK for beginners), but there are some fast sweeping single track sections that could be a bit slippy in places.

Well said Keith. I was there only 3 weeks ago after having a 4 day stay at centre parcs too. I was quite suprised how close they are to each other- just 10 mins on the bike and you're on a red single track route- and yet the folks at centre parcs do their best to keep it a big secret, perhaps so you dont go and spend your money elsewhere!??

Ok its not on the same scale as Dalby in terms of size or difficulty but I also found the red (no black there) a lot of fun. Fast and flowing with a few suprises in there. There is also a rather crude version of Dixons Hollow hidden behind a load of trees. The bike shop was suprisingly well stocked and had a cracking range of tools and parts etc. The cafe looked half descent too.

I think the red route its only about 7 or 8 miles long and can be completed easily in less than an hour so I dont think I would go out of my way too far to have a ride there but its definately worth considering if ever in the area.  Smile
