It was a very dark night! I know it is November and i know it gets dark but tonight was extra dark. The full moon was hidden in by thick cloud and to make it even worse there was thick fog too. We met at Bickley car park, the fast lot were minus Little Hopper and they all looked relieved. They were Nigel the skills, Young Ali, Anton and Nadia and hackness Mike. They set off before but our route, old wives way to Hole of Horcum and back.
we were Houghing jax, Matt the camera, Garth, liam, Siobahn, Lorraine, Ravenscar Chris, Blue Dave, myself, and new guys Sam and Alex or as they prefer to be called 'the brothers with different mothers' I don't think they thought the nick name thru, it was to get discount off club membership but we all liked it so it is official.
We set off in cheerful mood, Narnia was in fab condition and there was plenty of merry banter. The fog was causing problems tho as we could not see hand in front of us. Matt swung to go round a rather large pile of gravel, clipped Lorraine's handlebars she fought back, it was a bit like an arm wrestling contest only on bikes, (new sport idea there) i had a ring side seat and was about to give odds of 70/30 to Lorraine when BAM she hit the deck but managed to bring Matt down too. Tactical error there tho, in the heat of the battle she hadn't thought through what would happen and Matt landed BAM on top of her! In my usual nursely way i checked the bikes whilst Jax and Siobahn separated the warring duo. Lorraine had hopefully just a badly sprained thumb and Matt a swollen knee. A draw! They both limped on for a bit but wisely headed back to the cars. Siobahn and Jax went too to ensure they didn't go for round 2!
It all went smoothly after that. We just found the trail at the top of the Hole of Horcum, The fast lads had gone wrong, Young Ali tried to tell them, he did know it as it was his dad who had told me of the track! Aw well!
Back to the cars, we went easy near the scene of the accident, the moon came out but i decided to stay on the fire brakes, the magnificent 7 rode home as one!
