Another big group! Not sure how many as we split into two groups but def over 20. I took the social group. We started out on the Dogs and geese route. Almost immediately we lost Toby to a technical but he managed to sort it and catch us up! The Pickering 3 were all out and boy they all looked very handsome! Julian (the man with two women's names) was back out again, he managed to have two punctures at the same time, just plain greedy. Thanks to lorraine to helping out. Due to a snapped chain, (extra handsome Richard) as well we were running out of time and we were all still clean. There was nothing for it except 'smelly corner', and just to make sure they all got really really mucky, there was none of Nigel's namby pamby route through the trees but straight through the water! There was a slight downed tree or two in the way, we didn't need snorkling equipment but it was close! ravenscar Chris was maybe regretting bringing out his shinny new bike, i thought i had broken him when he confided to Houghing Jax and i about his weekend, but he was only talking about decorating! ( you had to be there!!!) We then headed through some not so smooth and dry single track, Garth was my right hand man when Houghing Jax needed a spanner, Phil Travolta and Lee ' the man with no name' kept the group flowing. We had 29er Dave out for his time with the group. He did really well, as he had done very little off road. He got a puncture at the top of the long downhill back to the pub and had to be rescued by three beautiful damsels!

I'm so glad I went off with the technical Nigel group.

8 of us managed a great ride with some very technical downhills, Hackness Mike was asking at the top of all the downhills”When do I get off and push?”. It appeared that sooner rather than later.

Dam good ride with some classy technical sections(thanks to Lewis and his digging) and no one got hurt. Even better, there was no mechanicals…..not even a puncture.Laugh
