Well a very big group and a rather weird ride. We all met at Bickley car park. I split us into 3 groups, the very fast led by the Pickering 3, they def had coach Mark and Hackness Mike, then Nigel had the creche, in his group, ( i think !) were, Russ the pliers, Desperate Dan, Lewis, Sandwich Chris, one of the twins, well both, but not always, i had Ravenscar Chris, Phil Travolta, Lorraine, Siobahn, Lucy, Matthew, one of the twins, or both, father Baked Bean, I think that's it but i can't be sure! My group set off last, we quickly collected a twin, we headed off towards the Hole of Horcum via Old wives way and were overtaken by the creche who set off before us! reasonable explanation they had gone a longer way. Off we went. Fab dry trails, wonderful sunny evening. The ride on the moors was stunning, the group stretched out, lights on, it was really special. everyone felt it. Confusion again, a twin got a puncture, some of the creche who had been ahead were helping. Russ the pliers took charge and said he knew the way so i went off to find my group. Nigel and the rest of the creche were with them. Shortly afterwards Lucy looked back and reported they were catching up except there were more lights than expected. Then the very fast group over took us! The whole group were as one for a few moments. I was so shocked i found i couldn't release my cleats from my shoes, i decided that i could either knock Nigel over or fall in the heather, i decided to choose the heather! It was softer! By the time i got over the road i found i had lost half my group, we set off and picked up Lucy who had had a' moment' she had lost the group she was with and found herself alone on the moors not sure where she was! We returned via a diversion onto some wonderful singletrack and then found some tho not all of the creche! I gave up, back to the cars! All were back safe, a fun ride and as we were all going the same way not really a problem, but we must make sure we don't leave anyone as we almost lost Lucy!
