Well another big group out tonight! Nigel led the technical group. They headed into Raincliffe and rode a lot of the new trails Lewis has found, great condition singletrack, the big puzzle is where is Lewis?! I had the social group. We were, Houghing Jax, our very own 'most improved rider' Lizzie, Matt, Siobahn, Toby, The Tedman, Ravenscar Chris, Gareth, (not seen for a while), Phillip, (the club's very own John Travolta, ) and Lee, on a very very clean bike, still that didn't last long! We headed up from Ayton up the dogs, geese, and horse route. I think we will have to rename it tho as we saw none of the above! The trails in Broxa are rapidly changing but hopefully not going completely. Those who rode last week were rather sensitive when it came to checking we hadn't lost them. I am pretty certain if the rabbits and deers in the forest can understand English they must have though i was loosing the plot, as i yelled, 'Where's Siobahn?' I can't hear Toby, are you there? !' etc etc. Great fun tho and nice to see so many out. We even had snow! It was Hollywood snow, just small dry gentle flakes that didn't appear to hit the ground, but rather just floated all around us, magical!

me and rich simms went for a ride from pickering last night. we rode up to dalby to check out the condition of the trails.

well i must say who ever looks after the trails has done a great job the red route was in amazing condition. all the fallen trees have been removed and and the trcks have stood up well to all the snow and ice.

we went from the start of the red upto post number 6, then headed up to green gate and onto the bomb holes. we then did the following 2 sections of red all of which rode really well. the only done side was the fire road down sand dale which we took to head back to pickering was still littered with fallen trees.

good rideLaugh 20 miles in total.

well done you. I must admit the fire brakes are all still in a state as are many of the smaller trails not on official routes. Away this week end but i hope to get up there soon. Jingleby tea rooms should be open this week end too!

Oh it was SNOW in the headlights! I thought I was seeing stars from oxygen starvation Wink

Did anyone else notice The Tedman applying his super-human powers again? We were often blocked by impenetrable walls of fallen trees across the route - he just sailed straight through them at full speed. Not jumping over - just passing straight through! Spooky.
