well only 3 anti -socials, The Hackness Duo kidnapped Giles from us social lot and went and played up and down hills. Giles said he had had fun but he is a very polite guy so ……..
Us social lot were myself, Pete Blood, the Pocket Rocket, Matt the Camera, Phil Travola, Lizzy, Brendon, and joining us for the 2nd time, Jane and Gerald Smith. We left the village on a down hill, got chased by a dog so we escaped into a field of cows. Now as regular readers will know Pete has a thing about cows so we had to tempt him into the field but we all made it through ok, tho as Lizzy dashed ahead Phil did wonder if i had offended her but she was just pleased to be back out after 3 weeks of a bad cold. We made our way across some of Anna and Julian's old stomping ground and then headed up into Wykham proper. We headed into some regular trails but the opposite way to our normal route, this combined with them being extra dry and well overgrown made it all seem new. Jane and Gerald rode really well, no way are they beginners! We found where the motor cross bikes had been a few weeks ago, they seem to have improved the trails by smoothing them out which was great. Jane did really well, calmly following the line of who ever was in front of her, all went well until i fell off. We ended up at stinky corner and oh boy was it living up to it's name. We all relished telling Jane and Gerald of when we nearly fell in, rode thru it, etc etc and of course we told them of the time jax the Hough did fall in and lived to tell the tale. We then headed downhill and found Jed's trail at the first try, i was really pleased with myself, Matt was puzzled, it wasn't where he expected it to be at all. Think i had confused him with my left when i meant right etc etc!
I then gave the group a choice, straight back or a down hill and a climb with, yep you guessed it a field of cows! Pete whimpered a bit but was over-ruled and off we went. The cows were all gathered close to us as we entered but then lost interest, Pete and i did our leading from the front thing we are so fond of, all was well until the cows took a fancy to Lizzy. She seemed oblivious to us calling her to hurry up but made it through the gate in one piece!
Then a final downhill, and a nice climb which we all gave it our best shot but on one cleaned, ah well, next time eh?!
