Adam was the only one of the Anti Social group to venture out to “Peak” and with the wind and rain lashing down we both questioned why? Anyway I had numerous routes in my mind - the first being a 100m dash home! We decided to set of, it wasn't too bad but I planned to do a figure of 8 just in case it got worse.
We left Ravenscar bang on 6.15 sorry for any late comers we were keen! The coast path towards Scarborough was our first little gem, the views were stunning and the rain seamed as though it was slowing down, we headed on past the look out post then took a right across a grass field picking up Bent Rigg Lane again, then it was a left and a short hop down to the bridleway which took us to the railaway line. By the time we reached the railway line the rain had stopped, so it was jackets off. Up the railway line back to Bent Rigg Lane then a left down a good track heading towards Bloody Beck Hill. The badly rutted Moorland Track was well negotiated, then a left to Three Lords Stone, we then took the 2nd path left through the woods and to the main road. After crossing the road there was a small section of good forest track before venturing back into the woods again, to a superb technical bit known locally as Fairy Wood (we didn't see any). At the end of Fairy Wood was a short section of really badly rutted and overgrown - so a bit of a push. After another short section of good forest track we turned left back towards the Falcon on a bit of single track that needs some attention with a saw, I've been round many bits but not got there yet. We crossed the road near to the Falcon (fast group still out somewhere) picked up the bridleway through the woods back to Three Lords Stone on the edge of the Moor. The bridleway across the Moor is superb, just enough ruts and rocks to get you thinking about your line, but still able to keep up some speed. At the big mast we ventured down a small gulley known as BMTG (use your imagination) this brings you out onto a fantastics short section of downhill singletrack, where speed is a definate dismounter. Then it was back down school lane into Ravenscar.
