Well what an epic. I set off, alone, from work on my mountain bike. I decided to tackle some pretty technical trails on the way home on my way to join the guys for tonight's ride. I had just done a rather tricky over take, when i got my landing wrong, my front wheel slipped away from me and i landed pinned against some metal railings by my bike.

Well almost, strangely the end bit is true, but the tricky trail is the rail way line and i just rode past a man then BAM! i was off! He was a very nice man, lifted my bike off me, make sure i was ok, then beat a hasty retreat incase i started sobbing on his shoulder!

I have several very small scratches, maybe a bruise or two and a rather dented pride! A hot bath and a few pain killers and im as good as new!

I hope the guys had a good ride without me!

Am fine. It was one of those crashes that hurt a lot but not much evidence! No dramatic visible damage. It shook me up a lot, mainly because my neck landed on the metal railings and i had an 'oh my god ' moment! I thought id broken some fingers but no, just ripped some skin off! Gave myself last night off and a shorter ride today but planning a longer ride on Sunday to make up for it!

Sounds nasty. Frown If often seems that crashes happen not on the difficult stuff but in the middle of something totally innocuous, or something you know you can ride.

Take it easy
