Well good numbers out tonight. Ten of us in total. Though i did set off without Dillon but he wasn't put off and soon caught us up, sorry! Little Hopper had warned that my planned start up from the bottom of Hey Lane  could be a bit muddy and i did consider another route but……. im not one to take the easy option. It was pretty dry in fact but quite a climb. We all  just about made it though the last 20 yards did for all of us. I nearly made it but that was due to the fact that i was given a push by Steve Mr Bear Kendall. father Ted was out after a few weeks hols, we were busy chatting when Mr Bear shouted 'car!' and we realized that we  had joined the road without noticing!! Everyone got their breath back as we rode round to the top of hey Brow and picked up the piece of singletrack to miss out the corner of the reisty Bank road. Again as dry as a bone, fab! We then took the downhill to the Hackness road. The downhill was covered with leaves and in really good condition, even the stream at the bottom was shallow. We felt blessed! I was almost forgiven for the start! Next came Whisperdales, Father Ted decided to keep it interesting and rode with a flat tyre. The money shot of the evening was Simon and Elec-Rick both in identical poses leaning over their bikes, breathing deeply. “im enjoying this' said Rick, i think he meant it too! As time was moving on we missed out the first outside track and then rode the middle section until we picked up the downhill to Brian Thompson's. We flew across the downhill sections, Dillon did the last gate but still caught me up on the last climb! Big Nick is clearly getting fitter and blasted past me, but it may have been the call of the pub!
