Another good turn out by the mountain bikers for both evenings. On Tuesday, Little Hopper led the fast group on a quick blast through Raincliffe Woods. the conditions were pretty good tho the recent rain is slowly eroding those wonderful dry dusty tracks we have become used too. I led the social group, up Hay Brow and into Broxa, It was a very social group with much banter. As some of you may know i am running a marathon in October and am finding the training very harsh on my legs. Siobahn kindly taught Tom some massage techniques to help me, much to the amusement of the rest of the riders, as i had to lay down on a grass verge mid ride!

On Thursday we were back at the Anvil, another good turnout with over 30 riders. The fast group was led again by little hopper with Nigel to maintain order. The beginners split into two, with Pete(Blood) leading the faster ones and i brought up the rear. Yvonne made the mistake of mentioning she liked puddles, does that woman not know me yet?! It was great to see the improvement in the riders from the first ride up there just 4 weeks before. A real pleasure for me was to be joined Karen, one of my friends from my school days, it felt quite natural to behave like teenagers riding through puddles and talking about our school days. It is slowly getting darker on an evening but hopefully the new riders will keep coming out. See you all next week!
