Well tonight was the “big one' Russ' new route. It has been weeks in the planning, the weather was a little cooler. Perfect for a good evening ride. new trails, i could hardly contain my excitement. 5 pm arrived and went by and i was still at work. Lovely customers just would not go and so i missed the ride. Cry Tom and i set out at half six and after a quick blast up to Ravenscar, we headed over the moors to Harwood Dale, We ventured in on a bit of singletrack and we are pretty certain we saw some flattened grass caused by bike tyres. We were on their trail! Then we weren't, having to carry our bikes over some typical Harwood dale trails. I even went well over ankle deep in a bog! Russ, where were you?!!! Ah well, Tom and i had a great ride, saw an amazing sunset. We did  just over 20 miles , not a classic but fun all the same. How was your ride Russ?

Is it still dark enough to need lights at the end of the evening rides?

Well, after a winter of walking, clearing, chopping trees(i just cant help it)and making a few new tracks to link things up,the time arrived to test it out,i rode it twice last week just to double check it was rideable before the club gave it a go.

Nigel,Mike,Matt orange,Rich,Nick j and myself headed off from the Falcon,we did the North part of the forest first, heading up the main bridleway and then out onto the moor took a sharp left then another left back into the trees for the first of a new bit, headed down and a right and back onto the moor for a stedy climb back up for another go,this time heading straight down and coming out near the main road  near the harwood dale turn,we crossed the road, into the other part of the forest were some of the tracks have been destroyed by 4×4 use,but if you know were to go you can pretty much avoid it, well some of it.

We zig zagged and circled and held a good steady pace and seemed to do a lot of climbing as Nigel kept pointing out, only 1 technical downhill were a few came unstuck, but nigel blasted down it and was smiling again so things were good.

12 mile loop and back to the Falcon for a well earned pint.Tracks are quite technical but  probably the more you ride it the better it will become and only had to blow the dust of the bike Cool

Think we all enjoyed itLaugh

Got a few more routes in progress around that area Wink

Spotted Deb's & Tom gunning up Raven Hall Road at 6.45ish guessed Deb's had another problem on the railway line! How about a social ride from the Falcon sometime? Yep fantastic sunset on Tuesday, sometimes early morning rides are blessed with stunning sunrises, other times just cold and misty (mostly the latter)Wink See you Thursday
