Well it seemed a small group out, so plenty of opportunities to chat. Wind each other up. Insult each other, but mainly Lewis. We met at the Everley, sorry, my phone seems to be jammed and i keep making that the meeting point. There was , Hackness Mike, Nigel, Lewis, Anvil Nick, Nick Young un, who Lewis tried to give a new nick name too but i wasn't having any of it. It's hard enough to sort nick names for all and if people think they can change them willy nilly, well it just isn't that sort of club! It was a very good nick name tho and i am holding it in reserve for a suitable candidate. Brother Paul and Plumber Dave were also there, just thought of new nick names for them too! But rules are rules, so will save for another two. Finally there was myself and Giles, who i did let Lewis christen, and from now on he will be known as Ninja Giles. We all rather liked that name and i think we all tried to make ninja type noises, Lewis and Nick young un were especially life like. I was out of sorts, which Plumber dave was impressed i bother to tell them. Hackness Mike and other longer established riders knew better and just took the piss! I rode most of the evening with my Hope light facing off to the right and so struggled to see. This caused me to loose the line on more than one occasion, i may have uttered 'dash' or some such thing once or twice, Anvil Nick realized i was having a tree hugging moment( you have to be a regular reader to follow this!)The evening did what it normally does tho and lifted my mood. Hackness Mike got the shakes trying to keep up with the young un, the ninja and Nigel on the Wrench Green descent. Plumber Dave told us we had ridden just over 8 miles., about half of last weeks total. we had worked hard tho, finding our way over the felled trees and downed branches. Not a classic ride but after the challenge on Sunday we needed a break. Langdale Richard was a no show due to wearing out his disc brake pads , i wonder how that could have happened. Wink that's all for now folks, until next weeks enthralling installment!
