Great weekend. weather was excellent.  Accommodation at Thornbridge Centre was great it had a small cycle track with table tops drops offs, berms and really good to practice skills.

First day we did an hour brush up for new riders on basic trail skills at the centre.  Then we headed off to LadyBower about 18 mile ride with 1000 m of ascent.  Some lung screaming ascents with rocky fast descents was basically the ride profile.  Richard (Lizzies boyfriend) did well on the old Marin Palisade.

Toby, Ian Fieldsend and Triff (crash test dummy from evening mtb ride) went on a road ride which they said was very hilly and seemed a lot longer than 40 miles.

Today was a fantastic trail claimed to be the best in the Peaks with boggy section , technical rocky single track and a steep zig zag section.  It was basically a figure of 9 again with 1000 m of ascent and similar distance to day 1.  So straight out up and down to a loop at the end then back down the way we had come.  It was that good one rider sheered his rear traingle on his Scott Genius and we had a few over handlebars and offs…..although a few managed the whole section unscathed!

The road riders headed out to Eyam and Chatesworth House…probably stopped for tea and scones!

A great success with everyone buzzing about the weekend and the rides once we got back to the visitors centre for coffee.

Plan is for another trip next year Peaks was a good choice with plenty for MTBers and road riders.

Yes thanks Mark for organising a really fun weekend. Everyone was really friendly and up for a laugh. The centre was brill too - would def recommend it. We both returned home in one piece which is always a bonus! and had a lovely relaxing Sunday at Chatsworth tickling pigs etc. Rich's 'old Marin Palisade' is however, a fine piece of equipment and is 'race proven' (as stated on the frame) :o) he is kitted out with only top quality gear - Leicester City socks and 12 yr old shorts………
