is there anyone in the club who thinks a bike maintainece course would be a good idea?

iv just been tinkering with my suspension forks and quite enjoyed making them work again but didnt really know what i was doing.

so been shown by someone who does might be of benefit to a number of us in the club.

topics id like to learn more about are:  suspension, hydrolic brakes, and setting up of gears.

This was suggested at a previous meeting and I think its a great idea.  Are you thinking of a full day type course or just a basic input at a club meeting some time?

Also do you have anyone in mind to do the course?

Hi David

Have a word with Debbie first not sure if Ian could do this for us.

Failing that the bike co operative would be willing to send an instructor as they do these courses in Newcastle but will send one down if required…..although it would cost!

I'd be interested in a maintenance course too.

Everyone seems hell bent on doing Mountain Mayhem next year - so just in case I'm the entire support crew it's worth investing a little time learning the right way to drive a stubborn brake pad home with a rock. Otherwise I'll only be able to offer the skills I gained recently on the excellent first aid course. Which means our riders had better come in after each lap choking on a peanut or with a felt pen impailed in their thigh….  Smile
