Hi,

Any thought on what the best Turbo Trainer would be to get? Not knowing much about them any and all suggestion/thoughts would be welcome. Just one thing, I only have mountain bikes. Does this matter?

Hi Keith

Yes it does matter what size wheel you have as some trainers only take 700c wheel size (road bikes).

I can give you some ideas but please let me know:

What are you looking to spend?

Where are you using it - house or garage (some can be very noisy so you need to think about where you are using it)?

You really want to look at models from minoura, cycleops, tacx or elite.

Hi Mark,

It would be to use in the garage, unsure of what price as this would depend on if i also needed to get a road bike, but i do have a few ££ available. Kathy looks at the site that is why i have said a few ££ !!

Hi Keith

Debbie stocks Minoura  this one does road and MTB wheels and has resistance its classed as a mid level trainer:

Minoura M70r Turbo Trainer will set you back around £123 but see what Debbie can do it at for you.

I've got one of these:- highy recomended

£120 - 10 levels of resistance and as it says silent running also takes MTB wheels, but you can't use normal chucky tyres on any of these machines as they slip to much and are 'really' loud so you will need a slick tyre.

Hope this helps. Wink
