It was our first club road ride on Weds night and 10 riders made the 6.30pm meeting outside the rosette ….Pocket Rocket Ann and Pete Blood were there after an afternoon mtbing in Dalby - hardened riders now!  Ann also on her new Cude road bike…very nice. One club rider (sorry forgot his name) was in training for Help for Heros ride to Paris on a 70 year old tandem so was out to get a short ride in.   The weather was cold with heavy sea fret so we decided on a hilly route up Hay Brow, Harwood Dale  to The Falcon and back through Cloughton to keep us warm.  We set off towards Hay Brow passing Debbie (chair and club networker) who announced it was better weather 'up there'  not sure where up there was as we never saw any sun the whole ride……must be the new shop energy powders she is using!

It was a steady ride and a chance to have a chat with everyone.  Lorraine, Ann and Pete took a slight short cut after the Falcon and we caught them up heading towards Staintondale to find Ann with a mechnaical  -the chain had dropped off the inner chainring and got jammed between the frame and chaingring.   That was soom sorted and we were back on our way.  We arrived back at the Rosette after a short sprint to the pub….Carl burning up Mark on the final few hundred metres no surprise there!  Ride was 1hr 45mins.
