Hi folks - as we discussed at the members meeting it would be good to have your Horrid Hills nominations. These can be tricky hills or long slogs the thing is they are there ! When I get the nominations we'll have a list of the top ten for MB and Roadies. All you have to do is get up them (I'll mark start and finish) those who are really sad can post times for us all to marvel at. There will be a prize at the annual meal for the person who has completed them all (no dibbing) ! you an email me at Richardsonscc@googlemail.com or post on here !

Bonus points for using a singlespeed?
Two suggestions, both road.
1. Troutsdale is pretty steep. Do-able on 48×18 but not 48×14.
2. Hackness hairpins. Ditto.

Funny you should say that, the 17m TT from Forge Valley to Snainton via Troutsdale and back to Forge valley is this Tuesday coming up (3rd Aug). Easy course not to get lost on with just one road to go at and 4 left turns - 1, Hackness. 2, Half way to Langdale. 3, Next to the Peacock PH after dropping out of Troutsdale. 4, East Ayton.
Course maps and full info here:-
http://www.scarborough-paragon…..urses.html
TT starts at 7pm be there at least 15min earlier than that.
(Forge Valley at the National Park Stone half mile from East Ayton - this is the start and finish line)

Lorraine,
Dan's second choice is the world famous Hackness Hairpins. A race has been run on this hill for over 50 years and the start and finish are marked on the road already. The start is about 30-40 yards from the hackness-Suffield road, the finish is in the middle of the car park entrance at the top. It's 880 yards long and climbs 88 yards vertically, so is 1 in 10 overall.

Fleet Moss, Hawes, Yorkshire Dales.
we did it on the coast to coast. Apparently it's 5.35km and 22% at it's steepest but it's a bit far to go for the top ten list

Marine Drive, there is a nasty rise just before you reach the oasis for that much needed cuppa tea

Went up Wass bank today near Kilburn. Its one of those hills that gets steeper the further you go.
It's ace. Its a good feeling though that every time I go up, it gets “easier”.
Dont mention White Horse bank though. Still hate it.
