I have three days in Pickering coming up, with three road cycling mates. We are ostensibly meant to be training for a week in the Alps in June. But more than anything we are looking for some good long days in the saddle (120-160k?), 'plenty' of hills and some decent pub/coffe stops along the way.
Does anyone have suggestions? A garmin friendly route map would be even better!
Thanks in advance.
Can't wait to get up there … scenery look stunning and I hear its always sunny in April

Oh yes the sun always shines in Yorkshire! I will ask club members as well for you and see what we can come up with. I am from the other side of the club, a mountain biker. If it were me i would head up to Rosedale area, lots of really big hills. Chimney bank is the steepest road hill in England, or something like that, hard anyway. I know one of the guys who rides a lot in France knows of another killer hill that way, worse than the big ones from the tour, i will get the details. Another day you could head over towards Malton, into the Wolds, some stunning riding that way. or around castle Howard area. Lots of pretty villages. Goathland way is absolutely fab, such a contrast to the wolds. Gosh i really should think about getting a road bike it all sounds vert tempting!

thanks very much … we will definitely want to do at least one day around Rosedale … but going South to the wolds sounds good too
