Fabulous morning for a club run.  Not a cloud in the sky and a bit of a tail wind took 9 riders out towards Thornton Dale via the usual back roads.  We were joined by Dave Thompson, Terry Lynch and briefly by Chris Goode from Paragon.  Puncture number one was Keith, just the other side of Brompton, which took a couple of attempts to fix, and blood was shed apparently!  We were soon on our way and then he suffered another one on the road between Allerston and Wrelton.  Mark sourced the problem to ill fitting rim tape that was not covering a spoke head, sorted the problem and off we went again, heading into Thornton Dale and then onwards and upwards to Dalby.

We enjoyed teas and coffees with various cakes and Mars bars at the Purple Mountain Cafe and then carried on through the forest drive.  All was going well, apart from the climb up from Staindale Lake, until the descent from the Bickley Gate car park where Rex had a blow out and almost got cleaned up by a car!  Unfortunately we had travelled a fair distance before realising he was missing so as back marker I went back and found him on a grass verge fixing said puncture.

Then a steady ride back to the bus stop at Crossgates.  Just shy of 40 miles but took a shade more than the 2.5 hours scheduled - I made it about 4.5 hours but it was a great ride.
