Blowy ride out this morning from Crossgates. Unfortunately from the south west, which is where we were headed.  There were six of us out: RCC club members me, Carl, and Andy, and local riders Barrie, Tom Stockill and Rob Powell. Rain mostly stayed off. I still came home spattered with mud as the Andy and Barrie didn't have mudguards and Rob's was too short.

It was a hard ride out to Yedingham and Knapton, so we were riding in a paceline, with Tom and Carl maybe taking longer pulls on the front. They can afford to: they're fitter! After that it got easier, as we turned east. 

Good ride. Plenty of time to chat after we finished battling with the wind. My Garmin said 52.62 miles overall, although Carl, Andy, Tom and Rob went slightly further. Since I was on a fixed and pedalling downhill too I figured I'd done enough.  My top speed was 36.7mph, a cadence of 175rpm.
