well a good ride up to our coffee break at jingleby. We had ridden from the Rosette and done just under 30 miles, 6 of us up to Dalby where we were joined by vaugh.
Then disaster. As we left the forest via Bickley Gate, keith jamieson crashed off his bike. He hit some leaves at the bottom corner and twisted over his bike, hitting his head and landing heavily on his hip. Rex just managed to stop in time and stay on his bike whilst braking hard to avoid riding into Keith. That was pretty much ride over. “it's broken” said keith. We flagged down a passing car, the driver lived near by so Vaugh followed him and used his land line to call the ambulance. I managed to redeem myself after the last club crash and got everyone to put their coats on Keith and i gave his my camel back to lie on. The ambulance was there in no time but it took forever to get Keith stabilized. The air ambulance had been called and circled above us for a while. Anne and i waved like mad but it was not until we opened the gate into the field we expected them to land in they realized we weren't just being friendly. Another long wait until Keith was in as little pain as possible and then off the James Cook hospital. Everyone of us riders worked well together , Keith was calm and in good spirits. The ambulance crew were happy to get a proper job to do and the pilot was very handsome! The air doctor looked about 12! In total 6 professional were on hand to get keith sorted as soon as possible, it was so very impressive. Passers by were so kind, one chap even leaving his coat to help keep keith warm. Not a good first club road ride for me, but good to meet the Sunday crew. If they don't think im some sort of jinx i will be back!
We all wish keith a speedy recovery. I will speak to his wife Susan for updates on his recovery.

Get well soon keith!
It wasn't pretty to see but he certainly kept calm and maintained a good sense of humour throughout, and we all got some good photos too! Top job by the emergency services.
We all had a very carefull ride back afterwards for sure

just spoken to his wife Susan. keith is in james cook hospital still. He has a spiral fracture of his femur. The twisting as he landed did the damage. He is sedated and resting now. He will be having an operation tomorrow and will be hobbling around with a zimmer frame for a few weeks. Will it be a carbon fibre one i wonder!
Susan wanted to let us all know that keith sends his thanks to us all for helping him out. Not a happy situation but we were a good team! Well done all!
Can we have some pics posted on the site Phil?!
