I did not get in on my road race this Sunday so I am going out from Wold Newton to Spurn Head near Hull. This is about a 100 mile around trip. There will be cafe stops and the route is relatively flat. This is a red graded road ride.
If you fancy the ride departing at 9.30am from Wold Newton. Let me know

Mark,
We figured out what was wrong with the bike, when we put the front wheel on we did something wrong with the break thingy (I'm very technical) by the break pad was turned the wrong was or something and the front wheel wouldn't turn without a lot of force because the breaks were on! thats why I was going very slow. We fixed it and did a 55 mile loop quite easily. Sorry to mess you around.

Spurn Head. Well a 111 mile ride today. Although Tom will claim a 113 mile ride according to his Halfords bike computer compared to my Cateye….you decide which one you would consider more accurate! Just Tom and myself in the end.
We had an eventful ride…starting outside Kelk where we were ambushed by a greyhound….I managed to put the foot down and out run the dog but it was not easy…those greyhounds can run and for a long time..I was knackered.
We had lunch with Withernsea's talking parrot….who wolf whistled all the time ….must quite like lycra!
Then we came across a fight in a garden outside Withernsea…after speaking to those involved it appears it was social services or similar restraining a lad who was trying to break a car window.
Weather was fantastic, roads clear and a good ride.
No problem Matt …. maybe next time.
