Well last year I vowed never to enter this race again…..but I was there again yesterday.  This time with Hazel to provide support.

The race is over the Yorkshire Three Peaks and takes in Ingleborough first then Whernside and finally Penyghent - 38 miles with 5000 ft in ascent.  You can only use cyclocross bikes no Mtbs.  So there is a lot of carrying bikes up mountains and a lot of bumpy descents.

Last year I posted a time of 4hrs 38 so I was hoping to beat this so this year managed 4hrs 18 mins.  No falls this year and apart from a fly that flew into my eyeball.

Hazel did a great job being at the foot of each hill to provide water, gels and some shouts of encouragement.  She did so well she ended up providing support to other riders - a track pump for one rider and water for some others….one even rode off with one of our water bottles ……cheeky

Fancy it next year……?? Entries open in July and you have to enter very quickly this is a very popular race.  Only 500 places.
