We still have 7 places for the track day on 19th July.  This will be at Manchester Velodrome http://www.manchestervelodrome.com/

All details on our website events page.  This event is an introduction to the track and is for all levels.

This is an exclusive 2 hour booking on an international standard track.  Its a fantastic experience.  The bikes are booked and I need final numbers before 14th June.

If I cannot fill this slot I will have to go outside the club so come on get it booked……only £30 per person (£40 for non club members) this includes, transport, instruction and bike hire …….you cannot even rent a mtb for that price.

£10 deposit for each booking.

Come on dont let this opportunity slip by…..would be a good one for Lewis Scott to try!

Mark, can you put me down for a place? I've never ridden on the track before but I've got plenty of experience riding fixed, so I'm hoping that'll help.

I'm a little worried to give it a go asI hear these here bikes dont have suspension, a fixed wheel and no brakesSurprised

It sounds more like a recipe for disaster for me…………….I cant even stay on a mountain bike. I'll think about till monday and I'll make a firm decision then.

If I do come along I hope i can wear me baggys cause I look rubbish in that there lycra stuff.

I'm going to have to bail on the velodrome trip. My collarbone should be fine by then, but I don't want to risk it.

Velodrome day trip 19th July

So far the bookings are:

Hazel Grange

Tom Stockill

Toby Boyes

Jeff Francis

Graham Foulds

Rex Rixon

David Simms

Price for club members inc instruction, bike hire and transport is £30.  Non club members is £40.

Thanks Mark,

Your efforts were much appreciated. Had a great day and up for a repeat whenever we can book it.

Your choice of eateries was possibly better than my choice of Meatball calzone, but you can't win them all Wink.

Now who's up for building a velodrome? Sneaky one in the forest, using natural resources?

Here here!  Had a great day and really want to have another go!  Me and the kids will have a go at building a mini velodrome in my garden this weekend.  If it's any good you're all welcome to come round and give it a whirl.  Otherwise, I'll divert their pocket money into the 'Scarborough needs a velodrome' fund!

Hi

It just so happens that the dates for Revolution series at the track has been released.  If you fancy an evening watching the track cycling then get along to this.  The dates are:

Revolution season 7 will kick off on Saturday 14th November with the remaining three dates confirmed as 5th December, 16th January and 27th February.

Season 7 Ticket Prices:
Adult Season Ticket - £48.00
Concession Season Ticket - £24.00
Family Season Ticket - £120.00

Adult Single Event Ticket - £12.00
Concession Single Event Ticket - £6.00
Family Single Event Ticket - £30.00

I am going to book for 14th November so if you want some tickets let me know by 25th July and I will make a block booking so we are all sat together. These are very entertaining evenings and give you a real insight into track riding.  You have to be quick as these do sell out.

Cheers  mark

We have just returned from our first session and was riding with Victoria Pendletons Dad. He's really fast aswell you know. Vicky was on the track behind a derney when we turned up, but soon dissapeared into the shower when she had finished.

It was a grand day, All groups got the chance to ride behind the derney and Im sure we all had a chance to make our legs really sting if we wanted to.

Matthew from Malton here.

Ive just had a phone call from Alan the organiser.

If anyone wants to ride on the track, it would be worth giving him a quick call to find out if it is not booked up.

November looks to be nearly (if not already) full. In reality, he always seems to give preference to those riders that he knows, knows of their ability and have ridden with. With newcomers, its first come first serve. He really doesn't want to upset people by having to return forms. So, if you could phone Mark first and organise which session, then phone Alan to ensure all is okay.

Thanks alot, Matthew.

Yes,  Alan received my form this morning and said that the 21st is full and they were going to see if they could slot me in but to be fair I would rather wait until there's space for a few of us to go together so I'm not 'billy no mates' as I assumed there would be at least 3 or 4 from our club to make a car full.  He's going to ring me to let me know what the situation is.  He also said the session on the 6th of December was almost full.Cry

Hi Toby

Thats disappointing.  However my friend the track is out of hospital and recovering.  He should be ok to do it again or we can use the track who can book us a coach the other alternative is to book some places on a come and try session.

Toby would you do me a favour and make a call to the velodrome and see what sessions for come and try are available or which slots they have for our own club (2-3 hours)?

I am busy sorting the youth section which is close to getting off the ground so too busy to take this on as well.

Thanks to Toby for the work to organise the track day today.  Another good day for the club.  Good to see a couple of Paragon riders too.

15 riders turned up for the session another good day.  I will get the video online soon.  Photos will be posted soon once Toby sorts the 150 he took.
