A good turnout at Malton Wheelers' 10-mile time trial on the Pickering-Malton road. It was cool but the threatened rain never fell, and at least it wasn't too windy - just a breeze from the north.

There were three Richardsons CC riders: me, Jane Godfrey (doing her first ever time trial on her new road bike), and Mark Hancock (who last did a TT on his mountain bike). Jane did well, getting close to 'evens' (a 20mph average, or a time of 30 mins), while Mark's missed start didn't stop him at least beating his mate's time (but by less than he'd have liked). I had a target to 25:43 to beat, because that's what Andy Browne did the other night at Snainton. Malton is a bit faster, I suppose, but I still nearly did a little dance on finding I'd beaten his time by just 2 seconds.

Of the other rides, Matthew Enticknap showed his recent good form is no fluke, while Dave Thompson put in a good ride on his new fixed wheel bike. Colin Baldwin did a good ride on an ordinary road bike.

The guy who took my picture next to the fish and chips sign obviously has a sense of humour… I'm not laughing… but everyone else in the office is. Thanks for telling everyone Nige!

The camera never lies, eh Mark? I mean, my picture's kind of blurred - must be the speed! Wink
