There's one the week after as well (Sunday 13th Dec) - Brompton to Seamer and back, also 10m TT. Wink

A bit closer for you, same time 10:45 meet at Brompton near the start which is opposite the Brompton Forge Pub - park up on the start of the road to Sawdon.

There's another the week after at Hull as well, same 10m TT, on the V718 course.

Just telling folk (Matt) interested in local TT'in about events, like the Team Swift race - i.e. not just Paragon, makes no odds to me. Wink

I'll be there at all three, the season can't end for me. Cool The more the merrier, all welcome to Paragon events as always, practice makes perfect. Cool

Other Kids will be there as well Matt so you won't be the only one, but will you be the fastest ??? Can you beat Lewis ??? Same age as you. ????????????? Who's the fastest kid in town. ???????????????? Will it be Paragon or RCC. Lewis is going to Malton as well.

Can Mark G beat Tommo ????? ( I better start training again, not sat on the bike for 4 weeks, part of my Jan Ullrich routine - 12st here we come)

You've got to be in it to win it. LaughLaughLaugh

5m 10:15 - 10m 19:28 - 15m 31:06 - 25m 52:58 - 30m 1:05:34 - 50m 1:47:36 - 100m 3:47:15 - 12Hr 274.69m

I plan to do the Malton 10. First TT in six months! Surprised Might do the Paragon one, but it clashes with the RCC beginners' mountain biking at Dalby and my youngest son William might want to do that. Can't be in two places at once. Dunno about the Team Swift one. Might have to see how the Malton one goes and take it from there.

Also might depend on what *my* rivals are doing - Andy Browne and Mike Agar. I'm gonna claim Lightwater (Andy lost by default through not showing, Mike was a few places back in the TT)… So that makes it one-nil so far, fellers. Wink

Tommo - not been on the bike? You dropped in at my house with your bike the other day. Did you push it here? Wink Even commuting counts!

Yeah you sussed that out, 2.25m flat out at lunch time to get me 3 piece's of ryvita - and back again. Yeah commuting now and then when it isn't chucking it down, which it has for the last two weeks, just keeps the legs ticking over. Wink

Any hint of frost/ice and I'm in the car for sure. Embarassed

You might be 1-0 up but will you be at the end of the year after these races ???

Zero'd 1st Jan so who will be on top next year - LaughLaughLaugh

It's always good to have someone to catch and someone catching you and pushing you to quicker times.

Man am I hungry. ( Even this keyboard looks tasty )

It's a shame you couldn't get the number - I got hit in September, same deal as you.

He stopped though - £1200 from his insurance for my damage and injuries. Laugh

Thing is I didn't even ask for any money, I just wanted to report the accident so he didn't claim against me for 'damaging' his car with my body. They said thanks will £1200 be enough for ya ????????????? Surprised Errrrr - Yeah OK then. LaughLaughLaugh

On the subject of being hit by drivers, don't forget that Richardsons CC is affiliated to both BC and CTC. As such, you can get a discount if you take out personal membership of either. With CTC, it's called taking out 'affiliate membership' (costs about £8), while with BC you have to upgrade your membership to something like Silver (not sure of the cost). Either organisation can then pursue claims for damages on your behalf. Also, you get 10 million quid's worth of third party insurance. So if a driver claimed against you, you'd be covered. To get the fullest benefits of either organisation you pay a bit more - Gold membership for BC, normal (i.e. not discounted) membership of CTC.

Tommo - you're hungry cos you're living off Ryvita. Get some pies down ya. Wink

Sounds like there will be a few at the Malton Wheelers TT next weekend.  This course is popular and they do well for a small club.

Unfortunately for the Paragon event we are running our youth academy all day on 13th Dec when we go to Dalby Forest to do some MTBing.

The club is now working closely with CTC to develop Cycling in Scarborough and this event on 13th Dec is backed by CTC and open to both adult and young riders - members and non members.  So everyone welcome only £2.50 per rider includes bike hire.

I think I had better put my “four penneth” in while everyone is talking about our TT.

Im so glad that so many riders are going to try out 10m TT route. Its a good fast course, the wind is usually a cross wind with a rise up to the roundabout turn.

If all riders could turn up 15mins before kick off please - 10:45 at the little industrial estate near Flamingo Land turn off on the Malton/Pickering road. Its £2.00 to ride and we're a nice bunch af lads to boot!

There should (hopefully) be quite a few riders turning up, Clifton, Hull, Brid etc.

Its also the day after our club Christmas doo, so there may be a few sore heads.

Paul and I will actually be at Manchester Velodrome that day, but my heart goes out to all racing our course.

Enjoy yourself.

Damn good Engineering Draughtsman, air cooled VW lover and Karmann Ghia owner.

Anyone seen the weather forecast. Confused

Met Office says 'heavy rain'. If it's coming down in stair rods, I may go to Dalby instead. But otherwise I'll be racing.

Shame about the weather but that's what you get at this time of year, you have to hope for better than average weather.
Next week could be dry and sunny but frosty/icy.
I got all my stuff ready for the TT last night but at 10:15am (time to set off) it was still chucking it down at my house and there were standing puddles everywhere as well.
That course is quite bad for pot-holes and tarmac patches that are a bit slap-dash to say the least, so with puddles everywhere covering them up it was the right decision however disappointing that was. If you've ever raced at speed over puddles not knowing whats at the bottom you'll know why.

Brompton 10m TT next week then 10:45 for 11am start (fingers x'ed)

5m 10:15 - 10m 19:28 - 15m 31:06 - 25m 52:58 - 30m 1:05:34 - 50m 1:47:36 - 100m 3:47:15 - 12Hr 274.69m

The thing is you can't see how deep they are, they may be there 'cos they're 6in deep. Surprised

Therefore you have to dodge everyone which means going 'out' into the road sometimes.

'Read' what it says about the course above, if it was super smooth and brand new tarmac they may have run it but it isn't. Cry

Go through one that is deep and you're straight over the bars at 20+ mph.

The marshalls/timekeeper did the right thing, no matter how disappointing that was.

It won't be the last time, so get used to it. I had 4 x 25m TT's called off last year on the trot cos of the rain.  Yell
