Good idea doing Thursdays - Smile

SPCC Tues - Malton Weds - RCC Thurs - this gives us all room for a bit of TT'in even if the weather is iffy. Wink

Hard course though that Burton is Frown First 3 miles uphill & last 1.5 mile not that easy. Cry

Anyone who gets under 30mins is doing well on that course. Yell

5m 10:15 - 10m 19:28 - 15m 31:06 - 25m 52:58 - 30m 1:05:34 - 50m 1:47:36 - 100m 3:47:15 - 12Hr 274.69m

Yes Mike is right we need riders more than anything…..ask friends and family to assist.

Each event will need 2 time keepers and two marshals (there will be a sub competition for the fastest hill climb up from Burton fleming).    We would also like mountain bikers to come along and ride it…the fastest MTB will also get a prize.

Mike is putting a lot of work in to sort this so lets see plenty of entries!

Mike I have just purchased all the race numbers, signs, marshal jackets etc… so we are ok for race kit.

I should be able to time keep or marshall on 6th and 13th August. I might be able to do 20th, but I'd like to keep that open for now in case I'm fit to ride by then. 27th I'll be on holiday.

All the details are on the events page on this site…its only a little movement of the mouse to find it!

Riders to sign on for 6.30pm at the village hall - first rider off at 7pm.

I think with a big orange number on your back even black and red kit will be ok.

''I think with a big orange number on your back even black and red kit will be ok.''

Thats no good for a head on view - going through Burton at 30mph (downwind) with that X roads, and all those driveways, full risk assessment and all that. Confused

I'll ave my little flashing LED's on if it's overcast - and so will Michael.

Mike - how many volunteer slots have you filled so far? If we need to, we could run the events with as few as 2 people per event (i.e. 8 in total). That's one time keeper/starter, and one marshall on the course's only dodgy corner. That would mean we wouldn't be able to do a split time race for the best hillclimb, but it'd be better to lose that than lose the events.

Ok everyone we have one volunteer so far.  We still need volunteers to assist on the time trial events especially on our first one on 6th Aug.

We need:

Refreshments

Time keeper -

X2 marshals

So please post which one you can do.  Come on the village hall has been booked and paid for out of club funds so we dont want it to go to waste.  If you are unsure re time keeping then this will be covered at our club meeting on 3rd August.

Hi all

Never done a time trial so I would like to know a bit more, whats the full route if thats available, where will it start exactly? I can only make the last two rides as I am away, will this effect my result?

Any tips on diet would be good.

Hi

I have updated the post in the site (link below) to include a map and course profile plus description of the route.  The great thing about TTs is that you will get a time from the first event which will be a benchmark on which to try and improve in the other races.  This is a handicap race so  you will get a time bonus as such to bring your time down. e.g 28 minutes  actual time and you get a 4 minute handicap brings your time down to 24 minutes.

http://richardsonscc.co.uk/200…..me-trials/

If you are asking about diet and what to eat whilst on the ride then you should not need to take anything for such a distance.  Dont eat any large meals 3 hours before the race.  Arrive in plenty of time to sign on and get warmed up. Also drive around the course if you are unsure of the route.

Ok everything is in place for thursday night the first of our 4 evening time trials.   This event is for road and mountain bikers to try there hand at getting around the 10 mile course as fast as possible.

There will be homemade cakes and drinks after at the race HQ.

Please show your support by coming along…. we need to make this a good event by getting plenty of riders there.
