Could I tell you about our 10mile Time Trial that Malton Wheelers are hosting this year in March?
It’s a new course, the V411 which starts and finishes above Sledmere (on the B1252 next to the Tatton monument) and turns at Fimber Roundabout. This means that the winner will be the course record holder! I would consider the course as being a sporting course. There has been a worry about potholes, but these should be filled by East Riding Council, who are keen to promote the race, long before the event.
Its on Saturday 12 March with kickoff at 2PM. The event HQ is at Sledmere Village Hall which is situated next to the Fire Station on Bridlington Road YO25 3XW.
All prizes will be awarded at the HQ immediately after the event wherever possible. Tea and Cakes will be available at the HQ during and after the event.
Check out the CTT handbook, or contact the events secretary direct:
Event Secretary: Keith Buck, Sawpit Cottage, The green, Slingsby, N. Yorks, YO62 4AA
Tel: 01653 628211
E-mail: bucksawpit@btinternet.com
I really hope some of you guys and gals can make it to our first open event for some time, we would really like to make this a huge success and your entries will ensure it.
Cheers, Matthew.

Matthew - how hilly is it compared with the Burton Fleming course? Is the final drag any worse than Bartindale? I would likely ride it on fixed, so long as I can literally get round.

Surprised you have not ridden out there!
Its rather draggy, but eases up towards the finish although still climbing.
The return leg is mostly up hill, so you must keep some in reserve.
Go-on, have a go.

Can you post about this again early March? It will prompt me to remind people. Good luck. Wonderful cycling out that way. I fell in love with road cycling on an holiday last september, we passed through Sledmere on our last day. Good luck too!

I have ridden out that way, Matthew. I know it's kind of rolling. But I haven't ridden that 10 course, and I wasn't on a 92″ fixed wheel bike when I was there…

Great Course very rolling and windy, the hill down on the way out woop woop [Image Removed by User] [Image Removed by User] [Image Removed by User] on the tri bars was a wee bit scary but great fun [Image Removed by User] , a car and a van had to floor it to get passed me then on the rise after the first right they decided to turn right opposite pub and block the road [Image Removed by User] lost all momentum on the rise due to being stuck in traffic gutted grrrr [Image Removed by User] can only guess what time i lost??? 20 to 30 secs??? Managed to catch my 1min man before drop down to roundabout, and managed to hold big Jason from Hull off until the turn, he caught me pushing a big gear just before the rise i was closing on the hill then at the top flat he was away like a rocket and away for the win, i got my 2min guy on the final climb which was a a bit aghhh on the legs. Well happy with 5th but i wonder with no Flipper in a van [Image Removed by User] Hats off to the top riders bloody strong.
All in all a great day, one of the best set up TT's ive ever done, ive never seen so many marshalls must of been 8 on bottom round a bout, hats off to Malton for a great day and making it safe, and the enthusistic support, this one will be on my calander next year [Image Removed by User] and hopefully more TEF will be there??
Nice to see Mick potter from SPCC enjoy the retirement, and big hairy Col's having a come back yay [Image Removed by User] Get on the TEF bus [Image Removed by User]

Nice one, Carl. Another good result. I decided against riding as I wasn't sure if I'd have made a work deadline the day before. I did in the end so was free, but of course you can't enter on the line for Opens.

You look lovely!
What a cracking event, enjoyed by all! Its just a shame I wasn't racing.
Ive worked out though, that if I went off number one, I could get back and do the results…..
Next year, here I come.
