It’s our 6th TT on Thursday and we’re back on the Hackness Hilly course for the last time this year. If you’ve ridden that way recently you’ll know that there’s a temporary bridge and traffic lights. We can’t race through these lights, so we’ll have to start and finish either side of Mowthorpe Bridge. That will make the TT about 8 miles rather than 10 miles – although still with the hilly bits you know and love.
Usual rules: sign on 15 mins before, £3 to ride, under 18s must wear a helmet. Any roadworthy bike is fine (except a recumbent or an electric bike) and a road bike is probably about as fast as a TT bike on this course.
I’m going to ask the Everley if it’s okay to park and meet in their carpark. If they say no, we’ll meet in Hackness at the village hall. Whichever place we meet at, don’t forget to give yourself a few minutes extra to get to the start, as the lights might be on red.
Timekeeper for this event is me, Dan. If we get more than about 20 or so riders, Paul Griffiths has volunteered to give up his ride and help me. It’ll take the early starters about 25 minutes to cover this course, and I’ll need about a few minutes to get from the start to the finish.
